Aleksandar Reljic

Aleksandar Reljić, a journalist and head of the Documentary Department at Radio-Television of Vojvodina was born in Belgrade in 1974.

Throughout his 20-year-long career he has been an author of the documentaries mostly dealing with xenophobia, nationalism, war crimes, inter-ethnic relations in former Yugoslavia, burdened by the wars of the 90’s.

Niklas Lindqvist

Ambassador of Finland

Niklas Lindqvist took up his post of Head of Mission at the Embassy of Finland in Belgrade on 1 September 2023. Besides Serbia, he also covers Montenegro and North Macedonia

Prior to his current posting, he served as Director of the Unit for Russia at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland (2018-2023).

In 2013-2018 Ambassador Lindqvist worked as Roving Ambassador to Central Asia, representing Finland in Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.

Prior to that he served at the Permanent Representation of Finland to the EU in Brussels, where he was responsible for the Eastern Europe and Central Asia area (2010-2013).

He served twice at the Finnish Embassy in Moscow as head of the Political Section (2007-2010) and as Second Secretary covering Russian foreign policy (1997-2000).

In 2000-2004, Ambassador Lindqvist worked at the Finnish Mission to the United Nations in New York, covering the UN Security Council and arms control and disarmament issues.

Ambassador Lindqvist has also served as Advisor to the Under-Secretary of State (political) and the Political Director at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs in Helsinki (2004-2007). Earlier in his career he worked in the Political and Protocol Departments of the MFA. He joined the Ministry for Foreign Affairs in 1996.

Ambassador Lindqvist was born in Helsinki in 1967. He holds a Master of Political Science degree from Åbo Akademi University (city of Turku). He is fluent in Swedish (mother tongue), Finnish, English, Russian and French.

Ambassador Lindqvist is married to Ms. Tracy Dolan. They have a son and two daughters.
