Press info 26, 27, 28 July, 9th FORTECA INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL PERAST

Opening ceremony started 26th of July at Heritage Grand Perast Hotel with documentary selection at 19.00. Festival director Jelena Mila welcomed first Festival guests Paul Michael Tapper film critics from Sweden, Dusko Mazalica actor and director for the movie The Old Man and his Dream, Ivana Kostic distributor and producer and actress Regila Steiner Tomic as host for the FIFFP soc.short selection. For the first time this film selection will be screened at Heritage Hotel garden.

After screening of the Macedonian film “The Time” documentary about Skopje architecture’s history during last century, Opening ceremony moved to the Perast Square and Main film selection, by screening the Balkan premiere film HAMMARSKJÖLD, and holding Q/A with the film critic Michael Tapper. The personality of Dag Hammarskjöld, first Swedish UN General Secretary in 1960’s described in the movie, is still full of doubts regarding his life. Answering on some question from the audience, Michael presented some facts abut time in which Dag was working and dealing with colonial Kongo case. Second movie in the Opening eve was POSLEDNJI KRUG MOMCI, parody on political and social structures in modern Balkan lands.

 

July 27th  at the second day of the Forteca international film festival firstly a panel was held at the Grand Heritage hotel and the theme was “Film as Art or as Politics”. The main guest was Paul Michael Tapper, famous film critics from Sweden and he talked about a movie that was shown a night before (“Hammarskjöld”) and generally how Politics have effectively shaped films during time. After the panel, in the evening was played a documentary film named ”Oflag XIII B”. Later at the Parast square was projection of two feature films – ”Prva klasa”  a serbian movie, and “Leva lite” a swedish one. 

 

July 28th  at the third day of the Forteca International Film Festival Perast a panel was held at the “Crkva Rozdestva” (“Church of the Nativity of the Virgin”) more as round table since thta day was National day of Sorrow. The theme was “ Film as local/global product, Mel Gibson at Athos” and the guest was Milan P. Kićevac, director and producer, together with Michael Tapper, Ivana Kostic, father Jovan and host Jelena Mila . It was talked about spirituality and religion in film, mostly related to the film “Rovački Ostrog”  by Milan P. Kićevac director and panel guest.
